About Me

!nversed Poignancy!

...I am an eclectic amalgamation of many seemingly paradoxical things. This can be exemplified in both my seemingly endless persistance on many topics and arguments, as well as my careful cautiousness on other topics and arguments. This is largely due to how astute I am of the topic: more knowledge, more persistant; less knowledge, obviously more cautious. I also have times of obsessive compulsions regarding certain things (mostly just my thoughts, however)...

Life and Death

!nversed Poignancy!

Life

An assembly

Possibly impossible

Perfectly interchangeable..

Death

That lives most upright

Beyond the unspoken

Neither a squiggle nor a quibble..

She and Me

!nversed Poignancy!

She

A daffodil

Tyrannizer of me

Breaking the colors of dusk!..

Me

The rising sun

Infringed with violations

The impurity in the salt..

Love and Poetry!

!nversed Poignancy!

Love

A puerile desire

Buried in the heart

Never leaves..

Poetry

Sentimentally melodramatic

Cursively recursive

My thoughts idiotic!

Is it really such a long time ago
how nice it is to meet you again
my old friend
how do you feel
have you had some good times
I my-self have thrown away
many good chances

Come on let us find the way
back to that good feeling
it has been gone for so many years

Tell me about your life
do you have a wife
and some beautiful children
or have you been acting
like in the good old days
I my-self have been up and down
in this town

What have you seen
and where have you been
since you left the scene
did you really get to the highest top
in Katmandu
or have you been sleeping in the sand
all this time
I my-self have been all around
in many great lands

What are you saying
can't you remember my name
and that you are in a hurry
and don't have the time to be hanging around
in this boring town
now I remember what happened
we were the best friends
but
I once took your pretty girl
and best friends share everything
except the same girl

Come on let us find back to that good feeling
it is never too late
to forgive an old friend
you must not forget that we were young
and wild
and you did some stupid things too
and I was hurt when it happened
but you seem to forget
that I forgave you everything
so why be so cruel and hard in your heart
telling me that you don't know me at all
anymore

Ahhhh, reflexive pronouns! I was unfortunate to be away from school for quite some time when I was about 10 years old due to a burst appendix, and I missed all these fabulous parts of speech.

I admit that some of them are still tricky for me to get my mind around, because I missed those months of drilling by my teacher with a ruler in her hand. Yes, that's what they used to help us *learn* better! Thank heavens those times have changed ... let's see what we can learn from this lesson in grammar and parts of speech.

Two people wrote in about Reflexive Pronouns :

I myself, You yourself etc

Thank you to Karen Z of Mississauga, Canada [Aug 2001]
and Connie Kozlowski [July 1999]

So many people and newspapers say :

"John, Sue and myself went to the store."

Ouch! This sounds as if someone is trying to be polite and they are not sure about whether to use *I* or *me* ... perhaps with some misguided sense of false modesty.

My suggestion is always this: think how you would say the sentence if you removed the other people from it. For example, would you say the sentence above as:

"Myself went to the store."
I *hope* you wouldn't!
Would you say, "Me went to the store."
No, of course not.
You'd say, "I went to the store."

So it should be, "John, Sue and I went to the store." This is the correct way to say this statement.

Let's look at this sentence again:

"John, Sue and I went to the store."

To make sure it is correct, let's remove John and Sue: and add the word myself [reflexive pronoun]:

"I went to the store myself."

Correct! That's the way it should look AND sound! So now you can remove the word 'myself'.

TIP!

There has to be a noun or pronoun in the subject (in this case "I") before you can refer back to it with a reflexive pronoun, such as :
myself, himself, herself, themselves.

I can hear you thinking, "D'oh? What does *that* mean?".

t means, dear friend, that if you are going to use one of these:

myself, himself, herself, themselves

then you MUST use one of these as well, to match it!

I myself, he himself, she herself, they themselves!!

Time..?

Living in a great land
where democracy is the plan
everybody believes
in the politicians
with their wonderful visions

It is time to stop
and think it all over again
before it goes down the drain

The police are everywhere
and the only things you can do
is to run dope or go on welfare
what has it become
when nobody takes care

Old people are put away
starving to their dying day
young people get no chances
when no schools are being started

Now it is up to you
show the country what you can do
don't listen to the evil voices
make your own choices
and start to build a brand new land
where everybody
can have the same opportunity
to get a good life
don't be afraid
there are many of us around
who feel in our hearts
that now is the time
for something to be done
so you are not alone

Living in a great land
where everything is taken
out of our hands
but we can not give up
because they are really weak
and we are strong
and we have to go on

The way..

All the way to nowhere
for no reason at all
misguided a long time ago
because somebody
did not want us to know
that there was a meaning
in the way of living
as human beings

Where did we turn wrong
why did they lie
when will we understand

We are born to die
because we have forgotten
how to live our life normally
and how to understand
everything that we see
we can compare ourselves
with fish in a fish tank
because we can not
find the way out of misery
our memory is blank
but deep inside
maybe something could be found

What can we do with this problem
I will try to tell you
you have to break the mirror
so you can see and understand
what life is like
at the other side of the big lie
and with this I mean
that you have to set your mind free
and start to think in a brand new way
and then you will be able to find out
how to live and feel
like in the beginning of time
when everything was fine

All the lonesome way to nowhere
without any map to guide
along the dangerous track
they tell us all to walk upon
